My chiropractic journey began on a sunny day when I was 11. I was riding my bike, enjoying the speed and freedom, but I took a corner too fast and crashed. Embarrassed, I quickly picked myself up and went home. A few days later, I woke up with severe neck pain and couldn’t move my neck without intense discomfort. The local doctor said there was nothing he could do and told me I’d have to live with it.
Over the following weeks, months, and even years, my symptoms worsened. I suffered from severe headaches, ear pain, and pain in my left arm and hand. This constant pain made me feel tired all the time, and it became harder to concentrate. School and work were a struggle, and I had to take many days off, with some people thinking I was lazy.
Despite this, I started looking into improving my health and wellbeing. I learned the importance of good exercise, healthy food, and proper sleep. But even with these changes, I still felt fatigued.
In my mid-20s, I discovered chiropractic care. After my first adjustment, it was like a lightbulb moment—I felt lighter, clearer, and, for the first time in a long while, pain-free. That moment helped me understand what true well-being felt like, and I knew I wanted to learn more about chiropractic and make it my career.
Even though some people doubted I could study chiropractic, I trusted that my mental clarity would also improve as I improved my connection to my body and nervous system. Now, with regular chiropractic care, I focus on resetting my nervous system to better handle the stresses of everyday life. This ongoing care helps my body heal from the long-term effects of trauma and stress, whether physical, emotional or even passed down through generations.
